Inside My Casa de Campo FAM Trip: Learning Beyond the Venues

Even during a FAM Trip, I try not to stray too far from my morning routine. I began the day with an early run through Casa de Campo, surrounded by expansive golf courses, beautiful residences, and the quiet rhythm of the resort before the day officially began.
It was a peaceful start to one of the most valuable learning experiences of the trip.
Learning the Destination Beyond the Venues
The second day was dedicated to understanding not only Casa de Campo as a resort, but also the many details involved in planning a destination wedding within such an expansive property.
At Salón Flamboyán, members of the Casa de Campo team—including Abigail, Betty, Kevin, and Theresa—guided us through wedding packages, room blocks, venue and date selection, wedding agreements, and the process of identifying the right creative partners for each celebration.
Every presentation and conversation gave me a deeper understanding of how to guide my couples with greater clarity and intention.
Knowing a destination goes far beyond knowing where the venues are. It means understanding how each decision will shape the experience—for the couple and for every guest traveling to celebrate with them.
Experiencing the Service Firsthand
We experienced a complete wedding showcase featuring a beautifully designed reception table, culinary presentation, and full table service. Seeing the experience from a guest’s perspective offered insight into the pacing, presentation, hospitality, and attention behind each celebration.
These are the details that go beyond how a wedding looks.
They shape how the celebration feels.
Exploring Casa de Campo’s Bridal Suite Options
During our property tour, we also had the opportunity to experience Casa de Campo’s two bridal suite options. Both offer a beautiful atmosphere for the beginning of the wedding day, while the VIP Bridal Suite elevates the getting-ready experience even further. Experiencing both spaces firsthand allows me to offer a planner’s perspective and help each bride choose the option that best supports her vision, priorities, bridal party, and the way she wants those first hours of the wedding day to feel.
Because the right bridal suite is not simply about choosing a beautiful space. It is about choosing the experience that feels right for you.
From Guest Rooms to Private Villas
The right accommodations don't just host your guess-they become part of the wedding experience.
Touring the accommodations was essential to understanding Casa de Campo as a complete wedding destination. We explored beautifully appointed guest rooms and expansive private villas designed for families and groups traveling together. Some villas accommodate large groups and may include personalized services such as a private chef.
A villa can become more than a place to stay. It may serve as a gathering space for family, a relaxed setting for meaningful moments, or an extension of the wedding weekend itself.
Experience these accommodations firsthand allows me to recommend the option that best fits each couple's vision guests experience and wedding weekend.
Closing the Day at La Caña
We ended the day with dinner at La Caña. After a full day of learning, touring, tasting, and experiencing Casa de Campo from the perspective of both a planner and a guest, it was the perfect place to reflect.
Truly understanding a destination means experiencing its service, learning how it operates, meeting the people behind every celebration, and recognizing how every detail shapes the couple's and guests' experience.
That's the perspective I bring to every destination wedding I plan.
And this was only Day One.
